A mentee sends a focused request. A mentor chooses whether to accept it. They meet online for free.

Why we exist

I received free mentoring when I was a junior. Others should have that chance too.

Early in my career, I used a platform called Mentoring Club. It connected me with experienced people I could learn from without paying hundreds or thousands for career advice. The platform closed after six years — but the need for accessible mentoring did not disappear.

Ask Someone is a new, independent community inspired by that experience. The goal is simple: make it easier for people to volunteer as mentors and give others useful career guidance, regardless of their budget or personal network.
